Martinic Kee Bass VST/AU plugin (With FREE Licence)

Here's how an early collaboration between a 1950s American businessman and a Japanese electronics company led to the development of a now-elusive 60s monophonic keyboard.

Rheem's cult-classic monophonic string bass emulator has been refashioned as a plugin, using physical modeling of an actual Kee Bass. With the Kee Bass, Martinic emulate the thick bass sounds of the original keyboard, alongside all of the visual and sonic quirks the original model possessed as well.

Available now as a free download, or as part of the Retro Pack, the Kee Bass has an interesting history that starts with an inventor and entrepreneur from the bright lights of Los Angeles, California.

Versatile and accessible the Kee Bass, although not on the final recording, made an appearance in Devo's brash video for Whip It,and much later, The Raveonettes sampled the Kee Bass, using it for the entire bass sound for their album Lust Lust Lust.
